I was a very nervous patient never having had an anaesthetic before but Dr Uncles put me at ease immediately.. The operation went well and I woke up feeling quite relaxed. I was especially concerned as I had been asked to take in my Power of Attorney and o give my views on resuscitation! I need the second eye done and will be very happy for,Dr Uncles to assist. Dr David Uncles, was kind, patient, understanding and put me at complete ease whilst undergoing General Anaesthetic. He remained professional yet friendly to help with my nervousness. It made my visit much easier knowing I was being looked after by him

I am a 74 year old female lady who has been extremely fortunate not to have been hospitalised other than or the delivery of two babies in cottage hospitals before never mind have surgery. As such I was extremely anxious and frightened about have a full right hip replacement. I decided to to into Goring Hall for my operation and chose Dr. David Uncles to be my anaesthetist. I could not have been in better hands. From the very beginning he fully explained my options and totally reassured me that a spinal block with sedative would provide me with a quick recovery with very little side effects from the procedure. On the day of the surgery he came to talk me through what would happen and his attitude and reassurance totally put me at ease and to my surprise I felt very calm and not as frightened as I thought I would be. At all times he was extremely kind and listened to any questions I had and took time to reassure me all the time. When I eventually arrived for the procedure to begin Dr. Uncles continued to tell me every step of the way what he was doing and he and his assistant Ronnie were so kind and lovely and I felt very relaxed even before any sedative had been administered. Once in the operating theatre Dr. Uncles then told me he was going to give me more sedative and I don’t remember anything more until I woke up in recovery feeling really good considering I had just had a hip replacement. I couldn’t have had any greater care than I had from Dr. Uncles. He is a wonderful anaesthetist and I felt so fortunate to been in his care.
